What about...Krampus in South Tyrol
Before South Tyrol's villages fully embrace the reflective spirit of Christmas, they play host to a rather terrifying visitor: the Krampus. This fearsome figure, with grotesque masks, hairy costumes, and heavy, clanging chains and bells, roams the streets. Always encountered in groups, and often accompanied by noisy vehicles, the Krampus make their presence known. We mingled with spectators and participants at a Krampus run, to find out what fascinates people about this figure and the events dedicated to it.
